Getting involved

How Can You Become a Partner in Ministry?

If you live in Rutherford County, Tennessee, or have a heart for jail ministry, and would like to offer your talent and God given gifts to the ministry (RCJM ), there are many ways you can become involved. If you live outside of the county or state, there are many ways that you can be a part of what we do for inmates. We would be pleased to provide you with information about how you or your church can be a part of this Great Commission Work in Middle Tennessee. Dear friends in Christ, we have found the soil, and you can provide the seeds.

Involvement in Jail Ministry takes many forms. One of the best ways that you can help is to become a RCJM Volunteer. You may have time available to teach an Inmate Bible Study, or maybe grade Bible Lessons, provide computer assistance (we put out a Seasonal Inmate Newsletter), coordinate a Bible Collection at your church, or conduct/assist in a jail worship service. But most of all, and more important than any of the above, we need a strong group of Christian people who will commit to pray for the work of the Jail Ministry each and every day.

Being a faith-based ministry, we also have financial needs. RCJM is not much different than any other ministry – or your own church. Our ministry mandate is: we will accept no funding from the Sheriff's Department, the local, state, or the federal government. We are supported 100% by churches, individuals, businesses, and foundations that are interested and have confidence in what God has called us to do behind prison walls. With this in mind, we can preach the Gospel message undiluted and without restriction.

It is not our intention to take away contributions from the local church. However, we do ask the local churches to consider RCJM to be their outreach ministry in the community and embrace RCJM as the church's mission project and be included in their benevolent budget.

Please prayerfully consider what you might do to help support the Rutherford County Jail Ministry here in Middle Tennessee. “ The believers went everywhere preaching the Good News about Jesus. Acts” 8:4 God has touched our hearts and we go behind steel doors and concrete walls to share he Gospel with the lost and often forgotten men and women offenders. Dear friends y our faithful support will make a difference in the souls that are added to the Kingdom.
