Rutherford County Jail Ministry

January Newsletter

Happy New Year faithful Prayer Warriors and partners in ministry. As you reflect on the past year, I send my greetings and encouragement for 2007 in the following prayer:

I pray that God will make 2007 a challenging and happy year for you. Not by shielding you from life’s sorrows and pain,
But by giving you strength so you will bear what ever comes;
Not by making your pathway easy,
But by making you sturdy and faithful to travel along the way;
Not by taking the hurt and hardships from you,
But by removing the fear from your heart;
Not by granting you sunshine everyday,
But by giving your face a light, that will shine on life’s sorrow
Not by making your life always rosy and pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most, that you will always be anxious and ready to help.
May you be lead by God’s love, peace, and joy for the next 365 days.

Praise: Doctors believe that my wife Ruth’s heart beat problem could be sleep related. Rick Warren (Purpose Driven Life) sent a personal letter congratulating ministry work. For the $6,000 in love offerings, from two supporters of the Jail Ministry, in December. For God’s continued blessings, faithfulness and ministry opportunities this past year. For the confidence, support and partnership of the Sheriff’s Department staff in starting new ministries. For the outpouring of love and assistance to needy families by Murfreesboro Missionary and Third Baptist Churches, the week before Christmas.

Prayer requests: Officer Donny Reed’s wife Pat, passed away on December 22nd. Pray for comfort and peace for Donny and the family. That God will open even more doors for Faith Based Programs and ministry volunteers. For more volunteers to assist and mentor released offenders. “ Do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord”. 2 Tim. 1:8
